OK boys and girls, lets have a little bit of fun here.
I'm sure most of you enjoy your fair share of booze. Here's a few questions. For most of you who like alcoholic beverages - do you like them because you enjoy the taste, or is it because it gives you a great feeling (e.g. getting 'buzzed', or outright drunk)? What are your favorite alcoholic beverages? Is there anyone here who doesn't drink? Me, personally, I've never been much of a drinker - I just don't like the taste of much of it. The only alcohol I drink is Arbor Mist (fruit flavored wine), and Smirnoff fruit-flavored beer (the little bit of alcohol I enjoy has *gotta* be sweet), and even then, I'll only have a glass (or a bottle) on average, about once a year. Pissweiser, *oops*, I meant Budweiser, and all other sorts of beer has an awful taste - I can't stand any of it. But my friends and co-workers relish it.

In any event, bring on the responses!

Personally I don't care for the taste of most alcohol that much, I do like the coolers though (the sweet fruit flavored alcohol). But if I drink it's more for the 'buzz' than the flavor lol :) I rarely drink though (besides I'm not supposed to yet lol).

Personally I don't like to be sober all the time so I like to drink some wine or good unfiltered beer at night. I don't like to get so drunk I'm clinging to the grass hoping not to fly away (Danger: Tornado's)
I love the taste of wine and good beer, a lot. I can't drink liquor....

lol Like I was saying in my other posts about taking Ritalin.. I'm not supposed to mix alcohol with Ritalin either because I guess the Ritalin intensifies the effects of the alcohol :D Haha fun! (I rarely drink though) :)

I love to drink. As we speak I am enjoying a glass of spanish red wine! I haven't been binge drinking lately, but I drink for the feeling. The taste will always suck. My favorite drink hands down is tequila. I can't stand chasers or anything of that nature. I shouldn't drink whiskey though. I just wanna fight. And I usually end up fighting.

p.s. I have curbed my drinking habits in the last year and a half. Maybe I'm just maturing. I don't drink as much as my friends urge me to anymore..I don't really feel like it anymore.

Could this be my pisces ascendant at play? lol

I really like the whole social factor when drinking, cause it signifies relaxing with friends or partying hard or celebration.
So I'll drink whatever is served and I'll drink it all till its gone.

However I have notice my sensitivity such as having a glass of Cab will be the "mellow" let's watch a movie at home or the Nob creek (whiskey) when your tiring to get a client to sign the damn contract.
Beer with the buds and the BBQ.
    Vodka for those dancing nights
Bloody Marys or mimosas on a Sunday morning to keep the party going or have "a bit-of-the-hair-of -the-dog-that-bite-you the night before.

Haha! Almost every post I saw here, thus far, has had me laughing!

Wine coolers, Fruit-flavored beer, and fruit-flavored wine, that's about all I'll actually be *willing* to drink, and as I mentioned earlier, it doesn't happen very often.

Indeed, I think most of the time, I love to just sit there, and watch my friends get wasted, as they start acting stupid, and I just sit there, busting a gut, laughing. Though I guess it's not too pretty when your best friend, as of current, chugs down a 6-pack of Heinekens (if I spelled that right), throws down a few Long Island Iced Teas (and whatever else have you), then decides to hammer a big bag of Doritos. Then, in the late hours of the night, we have to pull over into a corner on the road, and I turn my head, as I hear waves of his puke hitting the concrete.

    I am an alcohol connissuer.

I drink more rum then captain sparrows crew combined.
Really big fan of fine rum and jaggermeister.
Not a big fan of vodka or gin, tequila is all right I suppose.
I lovelovelove ale loaded with hops, but my budget doesn't really
    allow it all the time.
As for wine coolers, hated them since I was young.
Too much sugar not enough alcohol content.
Just the other day I had a cup of $400 bottle of imported swedish blue
absinthe and life suddenly seemed a lot better.....

if someone paid that much for fake absinthe (there is no blue swedish absinthe) you/they got badly ripped off ...

no absinthe should be blue in any case

jade green if they're naturally colored, bright electric green most of the bohemian/czech ones which arent real absinthe anyway ...
some of the best tasting ones are the clear swiss blanc types /// Kubler and La Clandestine and others ...

        I didn't pay for it.
It seemed pretty good too me.
I only had two shots worth and it was doing a damn fine good job....

    i drink socially.
green apple martini is my fave.
    and smirnoff flavored malt bevs.
and que royal (blackberry liqueur plus champagne, and a grape)...
i like dark and strong beer, but don't drink much of it at all. wouldn't think of beer if i felt like drinking.

sometimes i feel like drinking to get the romantic feeling, or poetic feeling.
red wine with a great meal.

in my teenage years i used to drink to get high (neptunian escapism) but i got over it quickly.
i never got to the point of passing out or throwing up.

      i also like tequila.
i can take any hard liquor if you introduce it to me. =)
but i won't go overboard, i can control myself - i have a stomach to worry about.

oh i will get nasty drunk if i want to turn off the guy i'm with.

I stopped drinking liquor years ago; my stomach just can’t handle it (if it ever really could). I only drink beer now which I have always loved. To be honest, I drink it because I like the taste, not really to get drunk and I don’t drink beer every day. But there are times when I feel like getting drunk which aren’t that often anymore. I like the Ales and Wheat Ales. I like Long Trail: Ale, Blackberry Wheat & their Belgian White. I also like Magic Hat: Circus Boy. But my favorite beer is #9 by the same company. I love the taste!

my first taste of it... without sugar and fire...

it was the first time i ever got drunk that i threw up.

i think i would've liked it with the burning ritual....

p.s. i heard of a scorpio friend who at an after-party booze, being drunk, stepped into the water-filled bathtub... and later threw up in it... and bathed in her own vomit....

you ever did something funny like that?

my worst drunk experience was with the absinthe... i trembled slightly... and threw up behind the bushes... in the morning, on the way to work... it was the first and last time i get out-of-control drunk. ever.

plus a mix of coke and tequila earlier.

sorry about making you guys worry about the legal status of absinthe.

i did want to lessen the alcohol content by burning sugar cubes and stirring them in but we didn't have materials... and i didn't like the idea of mixing with water.. ...

no the reason why absinthe was prohibited was because the drinkers took too much.. i mean you could have unidiluted as long as you don't take too much.

fucked the guy? sorry he's probably gonna like me more... i really couldn't even imagine kissing him...

hmm. maybe i SHOULD have entered his roommate's bedroom that night!
even though scorpy was right behind me.

                          oh, alcohol, alcohol.

we should discuss what i've read from one of my favorite teacher's books. my question is, do you find it to be true?
Anton LaVey said/observed that when a person gets drunk/high, he manifests traits that are opposite to his apparent personality.

i will illustrate my experiences for an example...

like normally i prefer to be silent and still, watching/listening to people around me. a reserved, careful personality.
when i have had enough drinks, i would be more open and spontaneous, and occasionally wild/reckless (that's from the teenage years, yes i had drunk parties too early)... or, my emotions will be completely out in the open (especially with beer, that's another reason why i don't really like it.)

the absinthe night... i transformed from awkward regretful girl to a really friendly buddy, i talked and talked with the date, like a sociable sales representative.... however i noticed something new that night - i was more aggressive in a way that could surprise my victim - and the victim of the sexual interest is not the scorpio date but his roommate - that guy wouldn't have expected anything from me but i thought i'd have fun standing in his doorway watching him feel many different emotions: surprise, wonder, fear (for roommate), etc. i could have done something seemingly innocent yet having sexual undertones...... i didn't find the opportunity to do that though because 1. i was sober enough to not want to humiliate the scorpio guy, 2. scorpy was following me all the time

so do you find the same dynamic while you're drunk... your opposite traits show up...?

and thinking about the old idea of "opposites attract,"
(robert greene, who wrote about seduction, seems to agree with that too),
would it be right to assume then, that you could fall in love with someone who naturally displays the traits that you do when you get drunk?
is that why you'd feel "high" or in cloud 9/heaven when you're with someone so attractive to you?

the scorpio man that i am in love with... his weapon is his aggressiveness and willfulness which renders me powerless like a deer frozen by the car's headlights.... "aggressive in a way that surprises the victim..."

i'm high today, because... it must be the lunch or my heartburn and i was thinking about the next post...

anyway.... yeah i guess i drunk it all so i could have the guts to fuck his roommate because really when i'm sober i think too much

                              interesting theory..

I love to drink it makes me talkative, which I am not, and it feels good
and I love to get high because the creativity just flows, and it feels so healing (rather than MANIC)

maybe I am just an uncreative silent monkey

or maybe I am all of these things
